(OTTAWA) One of the faces of the “freedom convoy,” which paralyzed downtown Ottawa earlier this winter to protest health restrictions, is still looking for lawyers to represent him in his trial.

Pat King, who has been detained since his Feb. 18 arrest, told a virtual hearing in an Ontario court on Monday that he was “looking for lawyers.”
Crown Prosecutor Moiz Karimjee said he was concerned about the time it took Mr King to find lawyers.
In previous court appearances, Mr King had said it was difficult for him to communicate with a lawyer while in detention.
He also said he had retained the services of two new lawyers to represent him during the review of his denied bail, although neither of them were present on Monday.
Mr. King faces 10 charges related to his alleged role in organizing protests in Ottawa, including mischief, intimidation, obstructing police work and disobeying a court order. He is due back in court later this month in Ottawa.
