Monday April 4, the 19/20 was able to go to Malynivkain the south-west of Ukraine. In this village recently liberated by Ukrainian troops, some residents have decided to return home despite the devastated landscape.

The town of Malynivka (Ukraine)just recaptured from Russian troops by Ukrainian forces, is in ruins on Monday 4 April. Amid the disaster, one house remained intact. This is what convinced its owner to come back. The mother of the family has just returned with her son. The shelling still echoes through the house, but no matter, she’s finally back.

In a street, which was still the front line a few days ago, Ukrainian soldiers patrol in rickety cars. They explain that the village is still within cannon range of the Russians, and have the order to circulate as quickly as possible in order not to be spotted by the Russian forces. Ukrainian soldiers are not yet encouraging civilians to return en masse. The village has just been taken over, but there are still many strikes“, explains a soldier.
