Suzanne Roy will be a CAQ candidate in Verchères

The former mayor of Sainte-Julie, in Montérégie, Suzanne Roy, will be a candidate for the Coalition Avenir Québec in the riding of Verchères in the next provincial election.

Quebec Premier François Legault made the announcement to a crowded room at a press briefing in Varennes on Monday afternoon. Several deputies and mayors from Quebec were present for the occasion.

Mme Roy will take over from Suzanne Dansereau, MNA for Verchères for the CAQ, who is leaving 28 years of political life.

“I especially want to thank you for the trust you place in me,” said Mr.me Roy with a big smile. The one who was mayoress of Sainte-Julie for 16 years was also prefect of the region for more than ten years and president of the Union of Quebec municipalities twice.
