Monday, April 4, on the 40th day of the gwar in Ukraine, soaring raw materials touch now Germany, where the inflation rate has never been so high for 40 years.

In Berlin (Germany)the shelves of three supermarkets were robbed on Monday 4 April. Flour and sunflower oil were stored by the Germans, before an announced price increase. The price of a packet of crisps has already increased by 25%, that of mineral water by 31% and that of pasta by 22%. The war in Ukraine has caused the price of raw materials to soar in Lagriculture and industry, which is reflected in the store.

“Traders only earn 2,3,4 cents on every euro they take in, so they don’t have a lot of wiggle room. However, the increase in the price of raw materials is not 3%, nor 13%, but sometimes 40%“, indicates Thomas Roeban economist at the University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. Inflation hit 7.3% in one year in Germanya record for 40 years. The government has indicated that it is releasing 16 billion euros in aid, including a bonus for employees.
