The narrator, who can be heard in the video, focuses exclusively on the positive aspects of the project which “will transform the way we move around the territory”. In this video, we also praise the frequency and reliability of this mode of public transport which “will arrive at a fixed time, in summer and winter, 20 hours a day”. The waiting experience will be “pleasant” and the 29 stations will be “designed for our Quebec climate”, it is argued. We add that “everything has been thought out and redesigned, from facade to facade, over 19 kilometers”, although we are still waiting for many details on the detailed insertion in Limoilou and the D’Estimauville sector.

A pivotal moment

This video is taking social media by storm at a pivotal moment as the City of Quebec eagerly awaits a decree from the council of ministers – this Wednesday – to kick off calls for tenders for the project valued at nearly $4 billion.

The Marchand administration is engaged in a showdown with the Legault government, which opposes the concept of a shared street on René-Lévesque Boulevard and wishes to impose conditions on the City, which could delay the schedule and force the Bureau project to go back to the drawing board.

Bruno Marchand calls for an unconditional decree and denounces on all platforms, since March 23, the “interference” of the government, which is concerned about the impact of the shared street on the travel time of motorists, between the Grande Allée and the head of the bridges.
