The tons of clothing, medicine, food and other commodities from the Euro humanitarian convoy were unloaded this Sunday, April 3, in Siret, Romania, on the border with south-eastern Ukraine. The volunteers fulfilled their mission after nearly 2,500 kilometers of travel across Europe.
Convoys rarely so large
In front of this hangar in the town of Siret, Eurois vans parade one after the other. For an hour, the drivers of the convoy put on their handling caps to unload and store the boxes of basic necessities.
The deputy mayor of Siret said he was very impressed. “It’s very reassuring that there are people who want to help those in need”, translated Titus, a member of the Romanian-speaking convoy. A convoy of this size coming to deliver food is very rare, added the deputy in charge of social issues.
