This memorable game ended in the second period of overtime on a goal by Simon Lafrance, on the score of 5 to 4. This is the fifth national title for the Trois-Rivières program.

The first to show the fangs in this meeting were the Albertans. Taking advantage of a good rebate from his teammate, Matt Fonteyne was able to draw a quick shot that did not give goalkeeper Alexis Gravel a chance. Subsequently, during a penalty awarded to Félix Lauzon, forward Luc Smith was able to double his team’s lead. Feeling they had to give the line immediately to not get too far behind, the Patriots saw Jordan Martel surprise goaltender Taz Burman with an accurate wrist shot.
