“Chicharito” launched hostilities by hitting the mark in the 9th minute, before scoring the insurance goal 50 minutes later.

Meanwhile, Bill Tuiloma replied for the Timbers, who have tasted victory just once since the start of the Major League Soccer season.

It was a moment of redemption for Tuiloma, who scored an own goal in the 16th minute of the game.

The referee in charge during Sunday’s match, Nima Saghafi, saw red twice during the duel. The Galaxy were able to capitalize on their one-man advantage on Hernandez’s second success, which came after Pablo Bonilla was sent off. However, two minutes after that goal, the two clubs were evenly matched again, as Marco Delgado was shown a second yellow card.

The Timbers fired no less than 16 shots on Jonathan Bond’s net, but only five of them hit the target. Goalie Aljaz Ivacic had a rough night in front of the Oregon squad, making just one save in four attempts.
