(New York) Could this be the curse of the Scottish play? The return of Daniel Craig to Broadway in a new version of the work of macbeth was temporarily put on hiatus after the actor contracted COVID-19.

The performances scheduled for last Wednesday were canceled when the actor playing James Bond in the cinema tested positive. The date of his return was not immediately known, but protocols indicate that it could take several days at least.
Daniel Craig stars in a revival of William Shakespeare’s tragedy, with Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga making her Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth.
macbeth is on the program at the Lyceum Theater in New York. Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold is directing.
According to legend, the coin macbeth was cursed from the start, when a group of witches objected to Shakespeare using real incantations and cast a curse on the play. Other productions that have adapted the theatrical work have been marred by mishaps.
Daniel Craig was last on Broadway in a 2013 revival of Betrayal of Harold Pinter with his wife, Rachel Weisz. The actor also starred alongside Hugh Jackman in A Steady Rain in 2009.
Sam Gold also directed Daniel Craig in an “off-Broadway” production ofothello in 2016 alongside David Oyelowo.
Other high profile Broadway shows have had to cancel their performances due to positive COVID-19 cases among their lead actors, including the two leads of The Music ManHugh Jackman and Sutton Foster.
