A 24-year-old young man was found dead this Saturday morning, Place des Emmurées in the Saint-Sever district of Rouen. He died after receiving several stab wounds in the night from Friday to Saturday near a nightclub in Rouen, learned AFP from the Rouen prosecutor’s office.
Murder investigation opened
The victim would have received “several stab wounds, at least one of which would have caused death”, according to the public prosecutor of Rouen, Frédéric Teillet. The motive for the murder was not known at this time. The magistrate confirmed that “medico-legal investigations are ongoing”as well as a “murder investigation”. He also said he had seized the departmental security of Rouen.
According to an AFP police source, a man presented as the victim’s attacker was arrested shortly after the events and taken into custodybut the prosecution did not confirm this element.
