Thursday, March 31st, Kylian Mbappé directly targeted sports betting operator Winamax on Twitter. “The danger of online betting… no longer having a limit. A little respect please”wrote the young Parisian striker, after a joke from the operator aimed directly at his father Wilfrid. On the social network, the online betting operator had posted an archive photograph of a spectator with a bare chest and buttocks in a football stadium, with the caption: “Wilfrid Mbappé during his son’s goal against South Africa.”
Posted around 9:25 p.m. and quickly going viral, Mbappé’s tweet had more than 95,000 likes and had been retweeted some 20,000 times by 11:15 p.m.

Winamax’s tweet, fond of jokes on the social network, was deleted about thirty minutes after the French international’s response and sparked an online outcry. This position of Mbappé directly echoes his recent boycott of several sponsors of the France team. Among these companies is Betclic, another online betting operator.
