Dominated at the start of the game, the Toronto Raptors quickly came back from behind and won 125-102 over the Minnesota Timberwolves thanks to the brilliance of Pascal Siakam, Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
Nick Nurse’s men scored only 20 points in the first 12 minutes of play, while the “T-Wolves” replied with 30. The latter’s production, however, declined from quarter to quarter while the team local remained more constant.
Siakam was the game’s most valuable player with a triple-double of 12 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds. It is the second time in his career that the Cameroonian has reached double digits in all three main attacking categories.
Gary Trent Jr. was the most productive with 29 points in just 27 minutes. In particular, he was successful on six of his eight attempts to throw from downtown.
Quebecer Chris Boucher spent more than 22 minutes on the floor, amassing six points and eight rebounds. His compatriot Khem Birch collected only one rebound in 4 min 39 s.
The Raptors will face the worst team in the Eastern Conference standings, the Orlando Magic, on Friday.
