The Vancouver Canucks are in the midst of a hot fight to reach the playoffs and will need all their ammunition at the end of the season. Head coach Bruce Boudreau, however, will have to do so without Nils Hoglander, who could miss the rest of the campaign through injury.

The pilot said on Wednesday that his soldier was on the sidelines and that his status would be reassessed on a weekly basis. The Swedish forward suffered a groin injury and missed his eighth straight night game against the St. Louis Blues.
“There are only four or five weeks left in the regular season so it’s hard for me to say he could come back before that. As long as I haven’t seen him on the ice, he’s out of the way,” the instructor said before the game.
The 21-year-old left winger is in his second season with the Canucks and is content with a supporting role. Hoglander has 18 points, including 10 goals, in 60 games in 2021-22. Last year, he had 27 points in 56 games.
