(Miami) Francisco Cerundolo (103and world) qualified for the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 in Miami on Wednesday, after the abandonment of the Italian Jannik Sinner (11and), while the latter was down 4-1 in the first set.

The 23-year-old Argentinian, who reaches the last four of the event for the first time in his career, will face the German Alexander Zverev (4and) or the Norwegian Casper Ruud (8and).
Sinner, who had saved several match points in his previous two rounds in long and difficult matches, could not finish this match, presumably injured.
