Gustave Kerven presents his latest film at the 40th “Itinérances” film festival in Alès

After two difficult editions against the backdrop of Covid, the Festival Cinéma d’Alès association organized a 2022 edition worthy of the event. For his 40th birthday, Itineraries saw things big with more than 200 films screened, feature films (including many previews), documentaries, short films, tributes, meetings and more than a hundred guests announced. And an ambition:Remobilizing the public is our contribution, from the opening night to the closing night (…). The idea is to have added value and to say: yes, we have to find our way back to cinemas“, explains Antoine Leclerc, the general delegate of the festival.

Among the previews scheduled during these ten days of the festival, the latest film by Gustave Kerven and Benoît Delépine At the same timea political comedy with Vincent Macaigne, Jonathan Cohen, Yolande Moreau and François Damiens: “It’s more than a political film, we talk about ecology and feminism. For us, these are the two fundamental pillars of what could be our future. And unfortunately in the campaign, these two themes are set aside“, explains Gustave Kerven present in Alès. He was accompanied by the actor Vincent Macaigne, impatient to see the reaction of the public: “It’s a movie that I found hilarious watching it alone at home, so I can’t wait to see it with people“.

Another highlight of this fortieth edition which runs until Sunday: the awarding of the Itinérances Prize (specially created to celebrate this anniversary) for all of his work to the gypsy director Tony Gatlif, also guest of honor. With the program, the projection of eighteen of his films including two short films, meetings with the public, a concert and an exhibition of his storyboards at the media library of the city.
