Transparency in the Orpea scandal. The government will finally publish by “A few days” the administrative inquiry report on Orpea, which points to “serious malfunctions” within the Ehpad group. The Minister Delegate for the Autonomy of the Elderly, Brigitte Bourguignon, announced it during a hearing at the Senate Social Affairs Committee on Tuesday 29 March. The executive had ordered a double administrative investigation to shed light on the facts denounced by the journalist Victor Castanet in his book-investigation The Gravediggers.

“I have decided with Olivier Véran to publish the report within a few days, taking care of course to conceal the parts that must be, if Orpea still confirms that it does not want to completely lift business secrecy”, she said. Although he mentioned on Friday such a “secret”, the government has never opposed the publication of the report, drawn up by the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) and that of Social Affairs (Igas), according to the minister. She asked the CEO of Orpea, Philippe Charrier, to “remove business secrecy from the entire report”whose harsh conclusions led the executive to announce that it was going to take legal action.

“Orpea confirms once again that it is in favor of the publication of the report”, responded the group in a statement sent to the press on Tuesday. And to specify: “Our agreement to this publication was not requested until Monday, March 28.”
