The documentary series “Johnny by Johnny” retraces, in five episodes, the private life of the star. A moment of reunion for his fans, who have maintained the cult since his disappearance, more than four years ago.

When Johnny Hallyday tells Johnny: Netflix offers with “Johnny by Johnny”, in five episodes, to unfold the romantic and extraordinary life of the “Taulier”, since his first television. “Talent, he perhaps had a little more than the others, in any case very young, he already sang very well, and very young he knew exactly what he wanted”comments Jean-François Chenut, author of “Johnny, his concerts, his most beautiful love story”, published by Gründ. Johnny Hallyday had an innate sense of showmanship, but also fears of failure. “I have huge cockroach attacks sometimes, because I feel lonely, terribly lonely”confided the singer.

Childhood trauma? Abandoned by his parents, Johnny Hallyday was raised by an aunt. “No lasting relationship with young people of his age, he has never been to school”, adds Jean-François Chenut. Fans of the singer were eagerly awaiting the release of the series. Some have experienced the concerts, joys and setbacks of their idol. “It takes up all the Johnny years, and all the years that I have lived for 60 years with Johnny, so I think that in the series, nothing is forgotten”comments Jacky Blavier, president of the association “100% fan of Johnny Hallyday, rock’n’roll and blues”.
