The 2,171 new cases reported on Tuesday bring the daily average calculated over seven days to 2,071. The trend is thus up 68% over one week. However, the cases are less representative due to limitations in access to PCR screening tests.

Moreover, 2,654 people also reported on Monday having obtained a positive result from a rapid test. Self-reported cases, which are not included in daily reported cases, are up 159% for a week.

38 more people are hospitalized due to COVID-19. The 1,153 people hospitalized represent an increase of 11% over one week. In intensive care, 10 patients were added. The 63 patients represent a 37% increase over one week.

The rise in hospitalizations with COVID is expected to continue in the short term. Every day, there are on average 16 more hospital admissions than discharges. In intensive care, there are four more entries than exits.

The 20 new deaths bring the daily average to 10. The trend is up 4% over one week.

In terms of vaccination, 86.7% of Quebecers, all ages combined, received one dose of vaccine, 82.9% two doses, and 50.1% got their booster dose.
