Philippe Poutou, presidential candidate of the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA), was the guest of 8:30 a.m. franceinfo Monday March 28, 2022. He answered questions from Marc Fauvelle and Salhia Braklia.
“Overthrow the capitalist economy”
“We have to manage to build an economy that meets the needs of the people, and that goes through the expropriation of at least the big companies and the socialization of the banks.“, pleaded Philippe Poutou on franceinfo.
The NPA candidate, who promises to ban all layoffs, including in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and very small enterprises (VSEs), believes that “An economy that cannot make everyone work well, or people live well, is an economy that needs to be overturned.“.
The refusal of the “useful vote”
Asked about the hypothetical presence of the left in the second round of the election in view of recent polls, Philippe Poutou denounced that“there is Mélenchon who is in the lead and we are being given the useful vote“, on franceinfo. His competitor from La France insoumise (LFI), third in our last Ipsos Sopra Steria poll for franceinfo and Le Parisien / Today in France, indeed pleads for an “effective vote” in his favor, so that the left is present in the second round of the election.
“Before, Mélenchon, he was in the Socialist Party“, recalled Philippe Poutou, and “twenty or thirty years ago, he did the trick of the useful vote by saying: ‘The PS must above all come to power‘”. “The PS came to power and it betrayed us“, he estimated.
France “colonial state” in Corsica
The NPA candidate for the Elysee Palace also returned to the violence that rocked Corsica this weekend. Two rallies interspersed with scuffles were held Sunday in front of two barracks near Bastia and in Ajaccio, at the call of independence organizations which accuse the CRS of having sung the Marseillaise on the day of the funeral of the activist Yvan Colonna. According to Philippe Poutou, “The French State remains a colonial State, of domination and which denies peoples like the Basque people or the Corsican people fundamental rights“.
