Develop sustainable tourism. This is the objective of the Baie de Somme Tourist Office, which is organizing its March 28 second “season launch”. This event, intended for some 600 professionals, has the theme “Together, let’s think about the sustainable tourism of tomorrow!”. A choice made because “green tourism is important. We must respect heritage and traditions”explains Henri Sannier, vice-president of the Baie de Somme Agglomeration Community in charge of tourism.
“We want to build rural tourism together, which takes into account the economic, social and environmental impacts”, insists Henri Sannier. For the chosen Samarian, “we are strong in traditions and rural heritage, and we have to say it very loudly, because most tourists don’t know about it. They disembark and see the Baie de Somme, which is wonderful, but they forget lots of little things around.”
Focus on the development of short circuits

For example, the Baie de Somme urban community is going to commit to maintaining the development of local shops in the territory. This is one of the weak points”, specifies Henri Sannier.
