Victor Hedman, Alex Killorn, Ross Colton and Mikhail Sergachev took turns flashing the red light and Barry Trotz’s cast simply had no answer.

For Killorn, it was his 20th goal this season. The one who grew up in Beaconsfield has thus reached the plateau of 50 points for the first time in his career.

Victory or defeat, Brock Nelson continues to score in March. With his 31st of the season, he threaded the needle for a 12th time since the beginning of the month. Zigmund Palffy is the organization’s last player to score this often in 31 days or less. It was in March 1996.

Ilya Sorokin started the game in front of the net for the Islanders, but was taken out of the game in the second intermission. He had then yielded twice on 20 shots. In relief, Semyon Varlamov made 12 saves.

At the other end, Andrei Vasilevskiy has meanwhile been tested 24 times.

On Saturday, the Florida team had barely defeated the Detroit Red Wings in overtime to end a three-game losing streak. These two consecutive wins allow him to overtake the Boston Bruins for second place in the Atlantic Division.
