During this seventh and final stage of the 101st edition of the Tour of Catalonia, Sunday March 27, Andrea Bagioli (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) won in the streets of Barcelona. After a race of 138.6 kilometers, the Italian made the difference in the final sprint of the group of favorites. Attila Valter (Groupama-FDJ) and Fernando Barceló (Caja Rural) complete the day’s podium.
The eyes were mainly riveted on the head of the general classification with a duel between the Colombian Sergio Higuita (Bora-Hansgrohe) and the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos-Grenadiers). The former managed to maintain his lead of 16 seconds at the start of the stage and won his first Tour of Catalonia at the age of 24.
