On Friday March 25, Russia announced that it was concentrating its efforts on the Donbass, in the context of the conflict in Ukraine. However, the strikes continued in the country. 19/20 special envoy Madjid Khiat, live from Lviv, provides an update on the situation.

On the afternoon of Saturday March 26, Lviv (Ukraine) suffered two Russian strikes. “According to the military regional governor, these strikes hit a fuel depot on the outskirts of Lviv, less than 5 km from the city center. According to the city’s mayor, no residential buildings were hit. Five people were injured: this is the first assessment made by the authorities” explains Madjid Khiat, the special envoy of 19/20 live from Lviv.

The west of the country had so far been spared: for a week, no strike had hit Lviv. Friday, March 25, the Russian army had however announced to concentrate on the Donbass, in the east of the country. “A whole symbol: these strikes hit Lviv, the outskirts of Lviv, while Joe Biden, the American president, spoke on the other side of the border, in Poland”concludes Majid Khiat.
