Two people involved in cocaine trafficking between Guyana and Montpellier sentenced this Saturday. Two and three year suspended prison sentence for these core members of the network. Five others were placed in pre-trial detention and another person under judicial control. All will be judged on May 12.
These eight people are among the 22 who were arrested last Tuesday in Guyana and in the Occitanie region. The traffic would have sold more than 160 kilos of cocaine for a total profit of 4.2 million euros in three years. In this network, 160 “mules” have been identified, some of which have “more than 30 trips during the year 2021”according to a statement from the Directorate of the National Gendarmerie released Friday evening.
