Quebec deplores 12 new deaths attributable to COVID-19

Quebec reports Friday 12 new deaths attributable to COVID-19, as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1048 hospitalizations, a decrease of 14 compared to Thursday. Fifty-nine people are in intensive care, an increase of two.

The Ministry of Health reports 2,203 new cases of COVID-19. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 953,498 infections have been reported, and 14,300 of them have been fatal.

A total of 122,045 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 96,477 positives. For Thursday, 1135 tests were declared, including 968 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 15,456 analyzes were carried out on Thursday and that the positivity rate is 16.3%.

As for vaccination, 8064 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 53% received a third dose.
