“I thought he was dead”: Dave’s husband recounts the day of his terrible fall…

Dave escaped the worst. The popular 77-year-old singer suffered a terrible fall at home on January 25. He would have fallen 2.5 meters! Urgently hospitalized due to cerebral hemorrhage, he had spent no less than four days in a coma until his friend Marc-Olivier Fogiel revealed that he had come out of it and was continuing his recovery. Since then, he has found the warmth of his home with her husband Patrick Loiseau.

The lyricist, who has shared Dave’s life for 50 years and has even become his husband, has agreed to return to the drama in the pages of the magazine Paris Match. He recognizes it straightforwardly: he thought he would become a widower overnight. This is after hearing “a thud“, in their house in the chic Villa Montmorency district in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, that Patrick Loiseau left the kitchen in which he was to see what was going on when he had thought of the fall of a plant . “I went to the living room anyway. He was there, lying on the ground, inert. I thought he was dead“, he remembers. But what happened for the singer to make such a fall? The latter needed to wash jeans and then launched a machine and, once it was finished, he climbed the stairs of the 150m² house, heading for the first floor, his arms laden with wet laundry. It was up there that he then fell.

Distraught, Patrick Loiseau called a friend and the latter warned the guards of the chic residence. These in turn called the Samu. While waiting for help – the firefighters arrived in a quarter of an hour – he had succeeded “at pull Dave to the mat and put a pillow under his head.“It was then that he understood that the worst had perhaps been avoided:”When he groaned, I knew he was alive.” The interpreter of the hits Vanina and On the Swann sidewho has suffered from two broken vertebrae, was finally taken after an hour to Percy Military Hospital. During his transfer, during which Patrick was not authorized to accompany him, the singer then had two epileptic seizures and fell into a coma. Four days later he came out. After a fortnight he was transferred to the Invalides hospital and, on February 25, Dave had the happiness of being able to return home. He can’t wait to get back on stage next April!
