How can we ensure that the products we consume allow their producers to be properly remunerated? “The first thing is to pay attention to products that are abnormally inexpensive compared to the rest of the sector”, explains journalist Dorothée Lachaud, present on the 13 Hours set. In order to better guide purchases, there are labels such as the Ethiquable label, which guarantees a fair price to farmers.

Do these labels lead to an increase in the price of the products? “It’s not necessarily much more expensive”, replies Dorothée Lachaud, citing the example of a box of eggs guaranteeing a fair price to farmers, which costs only 16 euro cents more than a traditional box of eggs. Large-scale distribution is also developing initiatives for better remuneration for producers.
