Since the suspension of the vaccination pass and the end of the indoor mask, Covid-19 contaminations have risen sharply. Some French people and establishments prefer to remain cautious.
The respite was short-lived, in a school in the Antilles (Alpes-Maritimes). Four positive cases of Covid-19 have been declared in a class of 29 students, so the management has reinstated the wearing of the compulsory mask. In the department and all of France, the number of cases of Covid-19 is rising, and calls for vigilance are increasing. “We have to be realistic, the virus is still there, and as soon as we lift the measures a little, it will resume”comments Matteo Vassallo, head of the internal medicine department in infectiology.
For the past week, the mask has no longer been compulsory indoors. After two years of pandemic, some prefer to remain cautious, and keep it close at hand. France currently records nearly 90,000 contaminations per day. Hospital admissions are also on the rise.
