The French Volleyball Federation announced Tuesday, March 22, in a press release, having accepted the resignation of the coach of the men’s team Bernardo Rocha de Rezende, known as Bernardinho. The Brazilian had succeeded, last August, Laurent Tillie a few days after the Olympic title of the Blues at the Tokyo Games. Less than a year after taking office, this resignation comes following “personal problems that no longer allow him to invest with the France team“, said the Federation.
The Brazilian technician mentions, in the press release, “one of the most difficult and painful decisions of my entire career. I am very sad because I love this France team, the group, the players, the staff that we have built. I am very grateful for the trust the federation has placed in me throughout the year.“
Announcements will be made in a few days.
Eric Tanguy, president of the FFV
“We had the best coach to carry out our goals until the Paris 2024 Games and so I can only regret this situation. But I obviously understand the reasons that led Bernardinho to make this difficult decision and I thank him for remaining available to prepare for the future.”, regretted Eric Tanguy, the president of the FFV. The latter promises announcements “in a few days”.
