In Hong Kong hospitals (China)Monday, March 21, staff are overwhelmed with the Covid-19. The elderly and poorly vaccinated patients wait in the open air. The death rate in the country is the highest in the world and coffins are in short supply. “There are a lot of Covid-19 deaths in Hong Kong right now.”indicates Lo hin wingpresident of the association of funeral directors. The Omicron variant is said to have infected half of Hong Kong’s 7.5 million inhabitants.
In protective suits, caregivers go door to door to carry out tests in the city. Hong Kong has a zero policy covidwhich requires each sick person to be isolated and locked up for 14 days in prefabricated quarantine centers. In Hong Kong (China)gatherings of more than two people are prohibited. Shops and schools are closed. The city, the most densely populated in the world, is currently not confined.
