Mayhew split his six seasons in professional hockey between the Minnesota Wild and Philadelphia Flyers organizations. This season, in the orange and black uniform, he has scored six goals in 25 games.
The other players subject to waivers on Saturday, defender Philippe Myers and Quebec goaltender Philippe Desrosiers, will be assigned to the Milwaukee and Manitoba farm clubs respectively.
Multiple players to give away
In view of the deadline for transactions, which is Monday, several other teams submitted players to waivers on Sunday.
Riley Nash (Arizona Coyotes), Brad Richardson (Calgary Flames), Kyle Turris (Edmonton Oilers), Christian Jaros (New Jersey Devils) and Derrick Pouliot (Vegas Golden Knights) will be offered to all other formations of the Bettman circuit, just like Kyle Clifford, Petr Mrazek and Harri Säteri (Toronto Maple Leafs).
