A driver arrested at 158 km / h instead of 80 in the straight line of a village in Dordogne

The news does not at all surprise the mayor of the village. In Saint-Pierre-d’Eyraud, the gendarmes of the La Force brigade checked a motorist at 158 km/h, on a road limited to 80 km/halmost double the authorized speed, reports the gendarmerie on its Facebook page.

A long straight departmental road

The gendarmes are regularly on this long straight line of departmental 32, which runs along the Dordogne to connect Bergerac to Sainte-Foy-la-Grande. Many motorists take the opportunity to push their engine. “He immediately had his driving license revoked”, explain the gendarmes. Mayor Jean-Pierre Faure calls them regularly to carry out checks: “It never fails, every time they are there, they catch people speeding.”

Speeding over 50 km/h exposes you to a fine of 1,500 euros in court, a three-year driver’s license suspension, and confiscation of the vehicle if the public prosecutor so decides. It is worse in case of recurrence.
