[IMAGES] A motorist targeted by gunfire in Lanoraie

A motorist was targeted by gunfire, but he was not injured Thursday evening in Lanoraie, in Lanaudière.

The victim, a man in his forties, was driving on rue Jean-Bourdon when his vehicle was targeted by shots fired in his direction from another vehicle near Montée d’Autray.

The 40-year-old had the presence of mind to speed up to go to a Sûreté du Québec police station, before discovering on his vehicle what looks like the impact of firearm projectiles.

Having seen the victim start on the wheel caps, the suspect or suspects who were aboard a dark sport utility vehicle immediately fled in an unknown direction, according to the police who specify that the investigation is still in progress.

A crime scene technician and SQ investigators went to the site to analyze evidence and try to understand the circumstances of this event, said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau of the Sûreté du Québec.
