The election of miss world took place this Wednesday, March 16 in San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico. It is Poland represented by Karolina Bielawska who emerged victorious from the evening which took place at the Coca-Cola Music Hall. The French April Benayoum finished in 13th place in the standings. An honorable place, especially since the young woman was an orphan of the president of the Miss France society, Sylvie Tellier, who could not make the trip for health reasons…
While the Miss World election ceremony was to take place last December, it had been postponed for health reasons on Wednesday March 16. Also, it is the first runner-up of Amandine Petit (miss France 2021) who had the heavy responsibility of representing France. A date difference which prevented the president of Miss France, the beautiful Sylvie Tellier, from going to San Juan.
Indeed, the latter had to undergo surgery which prevented her from taking the plane. It is therefore from a distance that the young miss received the encouragement of her president.“Happy birthday April Benayoum. Being born on the day of the Miss World election. Isn’t that a good omen?” could we read on the Instagram story of Miss France 2002. She then continued: “Hello everyone, well I hope you are well. You sent me lots of messages asking me why I wasn’t in Puerto Rico. Frankly, I would have loved to be in the room to shout and support April like I did last year for Amandine, but unfortunately I had a small operation last week and I was not allowed to fly at all.“
Finally happy with her evening, April Benayoum thanked: “Thank you for everything !!! Too proud of this top 13 out of 100 candidates. A great birthday present!!! Come on I’m going to bed now and tomorrow bronze in the pool, I haven’t even bathed in a month in Puerto Rico.“
