the last match against Pau in Top 14, it was May 6, 2006

Nostalgia sequence when talking about the match. This Saturday, Biarritz moves to the lawn of the Hameau to face Pau (2:45 p.m.). A Basque-Béarn shock which, in recent seasons, was mainly disputed between Aviron Bayonnais and the Section. A confrontation that has always turned in favor of Pau. But what about the oppositions against the BO? Both teams played well in Pro D2 during the 2014/2015 season (for two Pau victories). But in the elite of rugby? Return to May 6, 2006.

15 years ago, for on paper, an unbalanced match between Biarrots reigning champions of France and Palois fighting for the maintenance. The soundtrack of the Galactic era, with a slightly revamped team in its ranks:

15- Benjamin DAMBIELLE

14- Sébastien TILLOUS-BORDE; 13- Shaun EGARTY; 12- Denis LISON; 11- Sireli BOBO

10- Julien PEYRELONGUE; 9- Julien DUPUY

7- Thierry DUSAUTOIR; 8- Marc LIEVREMONT (cap); 6- Steve MALONGA

5- David COUZINET; 4- Ockert BOOYSE

3- Colin NOON; 2- Benjamin NOIROT; 1- Benoit LECOULS

However, it is the Section that wins (26-20), with tests from captain Jean-Charles Cistacq and Thomas Soucaze, and 16 points at the foot of young Lionel Beauxis, 20 years old. Biarritz side, two trials had been entered by Julien Dupuy and Ockert Booyse. On the bench of substitutes in particular: Damien Traille.

A losing battle but not the war since in the wake of this match, Biarritz Olympique will qualify for the finals before going unhook the Shield of Brennus, against Toulouse (40-13). Three weeks later, the Pau will be relegated to Pro D2.
