Claude’s mother went through hell in nursing home. But thanks to a camera placed in his room by his daughter, his executioner was able to be put out of harm’s way. Here is his story.

Claude had installed his mother in a nursing home. old 98 years old, she was placed in an establishment in the Paris region, Arcueil (Val de Marne). After a year, Claude began to have serious doubts about the treatment his mother was receiving. First there were the bruises on the face, then bruises on the arms and legs. When questioned, she seemed unable to answer. At each visit new hematomas, which the family systematically reports to the staff. Management, then contacted, says they do not understand what is happening at Claude’s mother.

The daughter therefore decides to hide a camera, in a frame that films her mother’s bed. Four days later, the images are shocking. The elderly person receives a volley of insults given by a man. Another night, she falls out of bed and breaks her leg. She will remain on the ground for four hours without anyone helping her. These images made it possible in 2019 to have the caregiver sentenced to five years in prison, including three years. Today the Claude’s mother died, but her family is still campaigning for a law to authorize the introduction of video surveillance in the rooms of nursing home.
