Former Prime Minister and candidate for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) Jean Charest announced Monday evening that he had contracted COVID-19.

“For the next few days, I will be campaigning from my home because I tested positive for COVID-19,” the politician said on his Twitter account.
“My symptoms are mild. Michele tested negative. I will stay at home until my test is negative, in accordance with public health directives, ”continued the candidate for the leadership of the PCC, alluding to his spouse, Michèle Dionne.
Jean Charest officially launched his campaign for the leadership of the CPC last Thursday in Calgary, during an event bringing together activists. He also conducted several interviews over the past few days.
“As a precaution, if we have been in contact and you are not feeling well, please follow the local public health directives”, advised the former Prime Minister of Quebec.
