Fuel prices have peaked in France. The main fuels passed the symbolic bar of 2 euros per liter on average, during the week of Monday March 7 in France, according to official figures published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition on Monday March 14. At issue: the price of crude oil under the pressure of the war in Ukraine. And this even if on Monday, professionals observed a significant decline in prices at the pump.
The liter of diesel was thus worth 2.1407 euros on average in France and that of Super SP 95-E10 2.0286 euros, according to weekly figures from the Ministry of Ecological Transition arrested on Friday. Diesel in particular has seen a meteoric rise since the end of last year, when it was still worth 1.5367 euros in the last week of 2021.
The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, has also announced a “discount at the pump of 15 centimes per litre” of fuel, from April 1 and for four months.
