Spring temperatures for the week

After the fleeting episode of polar cold on Sunday, the mercury will be on the rise throughout the week with a peak of 15 degrees on the thermometer Thursday in southern Quebec.

The week is therefore starting under good weather auspices, with temperatures above normal for the season, a sign that the winter cold is now behind us.

Environment Canada is forecasting generally cloudy weather Monday with occasional alternations of sun and cloud over most of the province, especially in the south.

Temperatures will fluctuate between 2 and 4 degrees in the Outaouais, Montreal and Montérégie sectors, while in Quebec the mercury will hover around the freezing point with possible snow showers.

In Estrie and Beauce, Environment Canada predicts intermittent light snow in the morning under positive temperatures, but it will be slightly colder in the northern sectors.

The sky will be clearer on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures still rising to peak up to 15 degrees Thursday in parts of the south of the province, while the weather will be sunny, according to forecasts from the federal agency.
