However, it is not the time change that will dictate how the Canadiens will manage their goalies. That no. Samuel Montembeault will therefore get the start again in the net of the Habs, Sunday, against the Flyers.
“I want to give him the ball,” justified the head coach of the Canadiens, Martin St-Louis.
Moreover, the formation of the Habs remains a mystery, St-Louis evoking some decisions that will be made at the end of the warm-up session. The manager didn’t specify whether these were players with questionable health, or just performance-based decisions.
The head coach, however, had some good words for Joel Armia, who he gave 14 minutes of ice time on Saturday against the Kraken. St-Louis admitted to limiting the use of the big right-winger before; his average per game was 10 min 52 s since the change of coach, before the duel on Saturday.
St-Louis said he recognizes several qualities in Armia. “I want to see what he has to show,” he said.
The Flyers are also playing a second duel in two days. They will, however, send Carter Hart in goal after giving him the day off Saturday in Carolina.
