(Frankfurt) Tens of thousands of demonstrators protested Sunday, in several German cities, against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to the police and the organizers.

In Berlin, near the Brandenburg Gate, a crowd held signs in the colors of Ukraine, yellow and blue, “Stop Putin” and “Stop the war”.
According to the police, they were between 20,000 and 30,000 demonstrators.
In Frankfurt, around 11,000 people expressed solidarity with Ukrainians, according to police, who said the protests were peaceful.

In total, the protests mobilized around 125,000 people across the country, organizers said.
The participants waved Ukrainian and European flags, and sang “Stoppt den Krieg” (Stop the war), according to an AFP journalist.
Other marches also took place in Stuttgart, Leipzig and Hamburg, bringing together young and old, and also families with children.
These demonstrations were organized by an alliance of more than 40 human rights organisations, trade unions and Christian associations.
In total, they mobilized around 125,000 people across the country, according to the organizers.
The crowd this Sunday in Berlin was nevertheless lower than two weeks ago. Three days after the start of the invasion of Ukraine, some 100,000 people had gathered.
