The war has consequences on the lives of Ukrainian civilians, but also economic consequences in France. This is felt on the French real estate market, because the current climate does not encourage investment.

For 18 days, the war has shocked and disturbed all over the world. In Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), Sunday March 13, French people had a hard time projecting themselves into the future. “We are in uncertainty, we do not make too many decisions and we wait to see“, confides a man. “I had a few projects but this is a bit complicated with price inflation“, says another. This malaise is also felt in real estate.

In an agency near Paris, customers had already been few for two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but for two weeks there has been hardly anyone. “We felt a before/after in the number of calls, the number of visits we make“, says Anthony Da Fonseca, real estate negotiator. The president of the agency even claims that clients have canceled their projects. If France is not at war, according to a specialist, confidence has deteriorated. A reinforced feeling by rising energy prices.
