A man repeatedly lured two sisters into his bedroom while he watched pornography and masturbated in order to have contact with them.
At the end of the 2000s, Serge Létourneau had begun a relationship that led him to be regularly in the presence of two young girls aged four and six. From 2010, while the mother worked until suppertime, the defendant, who did not work, greeted the children when they arrived from school.
Regularly, the man was expecting children as he lay in bed masturbating while listening to pornography on the internet.
On multiple occasions over the following years, the two victims went individually to his room where Létourneau took the opportunity to show them sex videos and encourage them to have sexual contact with him.
“educational context”
In court, the 59-year-old was unable to remember the date of his wedding, but was able to give precise details of daily life when it came time to exculpate himself. “His cross-examination was complicated and painful,” said judge Mario Tremblay.
Pressed with questions by the Crown, the man had also admitted several gestures while minimizing their scope, even speaking of an “educational context”.
The judge ruled instead that it was “systematic behavior” with the aim of abusing the victims and found Serge Létourneau guilty on all counts.
