This decision will affect the releases on Russian video-on-demand platforms of several films, including Spider-Man: No Way Home (Spider-Man: No Return in its Quebec version.) The Crunchyroll platform, a Sony property that brings together animated films on demand, will also stop broadcasting in Russia.
Sony Pictures is following in the footsteps of Disney, which announced Thursday the suspension of its activities in Russia, notably causing the cancellation of several film releases. Other companies such as Amazon, Netflix and WarnerMedia have also made similar decisions.
