“I had never heard of the Bourg-de-Péage club before this week”
Jean Pamart, 52, president of an insurance brokerage company in the Gard and of a web TV (HandStar TV) did not hide having had a real crush on the Bourg-de-Péage club when he met with leaders and elected officials earlier this week. Through Grégory Anquetil, former world champion with the French handball team, the Gard investor did not take long to make his decision to save the Drôme club from bankruptcy. If Jean Pamart wishes to remain discreet about the amount of his investment within the club, he does not however hide his ambitions for the coming seasons. “This club has the means to go very high in the league, the structures, the players, the staff, the public, the support of elected officials, everything is there to allow Bourg-de-Péage to compete with clubs like Metz or Brest within the next three seasons”.
“We couldn’t let this club die”
Nathalie Pamart, the wife of Jean Pamart, is also very involved in this project which aims to restore the image of the Bourg-de-Péage club after very complicated months. It’s a family affair since the couple’s son could soon become the deputy president of Bourg-de-Péage Drôme Handball. The club’s buyers have already assured the players that they will be able to finish the season well and as of next week, they will get to work to prepare for the one that comes while retaining the vast majority of the workforce.
