The Indian army accidentally sent a missile to Pakistan, which did not cause any loss of human life, the Indian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday March 11, qualifying this act as “deeply regrettable”. “As part of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile” Wednesday. This landed in “an area of Pakistan”adds the ministry in a press release.
“The fact that there was no loss of life as a result of the accident is a relief.”, he adds. The Ministry of Defense does not say what type of missile it was but specifies that a high-level investigation has been initiated.
The statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense comes hours after the Pakistani Foreign Ministry condemned what it called as “an unwarranted violation” Pakistani airspace “by a ‘supersonic flying object’ of Indian origin”.
