We mentioned in the first part the famous thesis of Anette Laming Emperaire concerning parietal art. But she also played a valuable role in the study of the Lascaux cave thanks to studies she conducted upstream and downstream of her thesis on parietal art.
The first time was for the purpose of a work which was published in 1948. She collaborated with the photographer Fernand Windels for the work entitled “Lascaux Chapelle Sixtine de la préhistoire”. She takes photos, conducts critical analysis of figures. She studies overlays and she also advises on the shots.
Anette Laming Emperaire returned to Lascaux in 1959. Year of publication of the book “Lascaux paintings and engravings”. It comes out jointly in its French, English and German edition. In this work she analyzes that if the cave of Lascaux or the decorated caves in general falls within the domain of myth and the expression of myth, its parietal art represents the first attempt by man to express, on the one hand, his vision of the world, and on the other the relationships of one living being to another.
