Audi Q5
Price: from $45,250
Along with the RDX, Audi’s Q5 is among the darlings of the class. With reason. Much like Acura, Audi is constantly evolving the Q5 to keep it at the top of its game. In its current configuration, the Q5 has a head start on the RDX in all registers – with the exception of the price – if your choice falls on the greener or sportier versions. Indeed, unlike the Acura, the Audi offers a hybrid engine, but also another, called SQ5, with a V6 engine.
Infiniti QX50
Price: from $47,995
The QX50 seduces with its successful line and its technological advances. The piece de resistance is under the hood and takes the form of a variable compression four-cylinder engine. A tour de force in technology. Unfortunately, this engine does not fulfill all its promises in terms of comfort and consumption. When it comes to behavior, QX50 and RDX have a fairly similar approach. But since we have to decide, the RDX has the advantage due to the reduced performance of its gearbox (the QX50 uses a CVT), the quality of its soundproofing and its ride.
Lincoln Corsair
Price: from $45,600
The Corsair is arguably the most gifted American-designed luxury utility to come up against the Acura RDX. This model, unlike its predecessor, the MKC, has skilfully managed to break away (aesthetically and technically) from the image of an ennobled Escape. More comfortable and better soundproofed even than the RDX, the Corsair benefits from a livelier mechanics (2.3 L), but more thirsty for hydrocarbons. A plug-in hybrid version is also in the catalog.
