2:54 p.m. : During a press conference, Jean-Luc Mélenchon asks the opposition to challenge the government on the war in Ukraine. “A man currently has full powers in France (…) It’s not a healthy situation (…) we have to debate”, defended the presidential candidate. The member of the insubordinate France wishes to know how France negotiates and what it proposes, that all is not only decided within the council of defense.

1:59 p.m. : Xavier Bertrand, who came fourth in the LR primary, also reacted to Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to abolish the audiovisual license fee. If Mr. Macron thinks that 12 euros per month will make the mesh to solve the problems of purchasing power, he is wrongsaid the president of the Hauts-de-France region on RTL. We will have to find another form of multi-year recipe [pour le secteur de la création audiovisuelle].

1:59 p.m. : After Emmanuel Macron, the LR candidate for the presidential election, Valérie Pécresse, spoke again about the audiovisual license fee. She evokes “a tax that has had its day, which is obsolete, in its mode of collection and in its base”. “We will have to secure the budget for audiovisual creation in France, with a multi-annual law”, she added this morning on BFM TV.

François Hollande, for his part, ruled out supporting Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The candidate of La France insoumise stands out from the rest of the left in the polls and that Ségolène Royal, in particular, has called for “useful vote” for him. “It would not be useful to have a president who would come out of the Atlantic alliance”considered in particular the former President of the Republic on France Inter.
