The Polestar O2 is a 2+2 type roadster with an expressive design that seeks to reassure enthusiasts of the genre who may see the electric turn as the sign of an imminent end for this race which puts driving pleasure first.

Based on a derivative of the aluminum frame of the Polestar 5 sedan – which will be released in 2024 – the hardtop convertible is considered by the manufacturer’s CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, a “hero car” for the brand.

The Polestar O2 is derived from the aluminum chassis of the Polestar 5 sedan.

Inspired by Lotus manufacturing techniques, it uses powerful adhesives to ensure the rigidity of its platform and reduce its weight. Polestar also promises a driving experience that emphasizes the lightness and nervousness of its behavior. True to its green leanings, its interior is largely made of recycled polyester.

Unusually, Polestar claims that the O2 comes with its own autonomous drone that can film the moving car at up to 90 km/h.

One thing is certain, the exposed compact proportions, which reduce the overhangs to their simplest expression, already make us salivate. Now let’s hope that this magnificent creation will be produced.
